About Closeout Skis

Atomic Tele Daddy ('04-'05)

The "Daddy" of the current Janak (see Cat. Ski section); stats and function are the same.

Atomic Beta TM 22 ('03-'04):

Same as '04-'05 model except for graphics. (See Catalog)

Atomic Beta TM 24:

The Beta TM 24 initiates turns predictably and easily, skis all conditions very well, and while not exclusively a beginning/intermediate ski, such skiers will find the TM 24 initially a bit more learning friendly than the other Atomic Betas. The TM 24 is destined to become a favorite with Tele skiers who need a good all-round ski that will do very nicely on groomed slopes, and competently navigate the often weird snow conditions found in the back country. Profile: 102-64-86 mm.

Atomic Tour Carv Alpin (2000):

A solid performing 96-69-86 profile wood-core Alpine touring ski that’s also found favor with many back-country Tele skiers because the Tour Carv has plenty of side-cut, but not so much that icy back-country traverses, and tracking ability become a problem.

Atomic Beta Race T.M. 34:

A fast, 90-62-78 profile firm snow ski, predecessor to the Atomic T.M. 20, and is meant to be skied a bit longer than the current Atomics. Original cost: $500.00.

Atomic 80/60/70:

A cap construction, 80-60-70 profile ski that predates Atomic's Beta skis, but is still very versatile for all-around use. The 191-cm. length is meant to be skied a bit longer than the current Betas, and is ideal for 140-160 lb. Skiers. The 80-60-7- is prime for use with the ultra-lightweight Garmont Excursion boots.

Tua Mega Plus & Tua Montets:

Both skis are higher-end (double-wrap torsion-box) versions of the Tua Savage, with side-cut in the mid-twenties.

Tua Savage (98):

An lesser priced version of the original Tua Mega (similar to the Mega described above), with a bit less side-cut and a single wrap torsion-box instead of the Mega's double-wrap construction. The original price was $299.00, and the 183-cm. Size is ideal for a weight range of 120-145 lbs.

B. Diamond Eclipse:

A good all-round, wood-core, cap-constructed (by Atomic) ski with a 82-62-72 profile, and the ability to ski just about anywhere. The 190-cm. Size is ideal for a weight range of 130-150 lbs., and the 180-cm. Size will carry 115-135 lbs. Nicely.

Kazama Outback:

A high quality traditional metal-edged, wood-core touring ski with a 72-58-65 profile. Originally $320.00

Garmont Monashee:

A 82-62-72 profile Tele ski for children with a sandwich construction, and full metal-edges. The Monashee works beautifully for Tele kids, is very reasonably priced, and we're not sure that we'll see another such ski being produced anytime soon. We recommend the Rottefella Super Telemark 3-pin binding for use with these skis, since the typically smaller boots that the Tele Tykes are wearing have a flex-point nowhere near that of the cable bindings used by adults.
