Telemark and Alpine Touring Boots |
|
We strongly urge that you consult with us about the correct sizing and proper fitting of Tele / A.T. boots (phone number, and hours available on home page). With that said, Garmont boots utilize two slightly different lasts around which to mold their boots: the “traditional” Gara / Veloce last, and the more recent “Squadra” last around which the current G-Ride, Ener-G, Syner-G, Venus, and Excursion boots are built. A good general starting point for sizing the ”traditional” boots is to add the first two numbers of Garmont’s Mondopoint size to get your U.S. men's size (Example: a 27.0 would equal 2 + 7 for a men's 9 U.S.), adding 1 for women's U.S sizes ( MPS 27 equals 2 + 7 + 1 for a women's 10 U.S). This trick only works below MPS 30.0 (U.S. 12). The Squadra last upon which the more up-scale bots are built is a bit longer, with slightly less volume in the instep and ankle when compared to the same labeled size of the “traditional” sized boots. The Squadra lasted Ener-G, Syner-G, etc. run more true to what a person actually measuresi.e. If you feet measure 27-cm. In length, you will most likely find that a size 27 Ener-G, Syner-G, etc. will be the best fit. Note: an easy way to get an accurate idea of your foot length (measure both) is to place the foot in an empty shoe-box, and with the heel touching at one end, place a pencil mark just below whatever sticks out the furthest. Once the marks are measured in centimeters from the end of the shoe-box, you’ll have a pretty good idea of what size is appropriate for your specific feet. If you’re forced to measure with a ruler, convert the result to a decimal and multiply times 2.54 (I think). But…then…there’s “funky feet.” Please Call. |

When the Garmont Adrenalin A.T. boot was introduced in the Fall of ‘04, hardcore, aggressive A.T. skiers universally levitated over it’s lightweight downhill responsiveness, it’s stellar touring and walking ability, it’s interchangeable ISO Alpine and Mountaineering soles, etc. But, there were still a few extremesters who wanted something…well…even “more aggressive.” Enter the Endorphin. Stiffer, and possessed with the high speed / high angle precision cranking power that’s easily a match for any downhill boot worth it’s Pebax. Unlike all those stiff downhill boots that commit high torture to your feet and shins just standing in them, the Endorphin actually walks and covers vertical mileage with something akin to actual comfort. The list of features for the Endorphin is as follows:

Powerful, high, and stiff enough to arc the biggest skis, and lightweight, agile, and articulated for ski mountaineering, The adrenalin is the performance boot that ski mountaineers and free-riders have sought when they cut, riveted, and rubber-soled their favorite Alpine boots. The Adrenalin is the first ski mountaineering boot that is compatible with all step-in bindings, Alpine or ski mountaineering; its ingenious, interchangeable soles let you boot up with rocker-ed rubber for climbing and touring, or switch to Alpine DIN soles for use with conventional Alpine bindings. The Adrenalin’s G-fit-2 liner contributes substantially to the performance (no “liner-lag”), warmth, and lightweight to the boot The Adrenalin has the following features:

The Ener-G G-fit trumpets the functional benefits of Triple Injection Technology--extreme torsional and lateral stiffness--for stability/control, and the sweetest, roundest flex on this planet. But, what really sets the boot apart from even previous Squadras is it’s new lightweight Ener-G G-fit performance liner. The boot's cuff is shaped lower and a bit softer than the Gara's for easier walking and touring. The Veloce's tongue and inner-boot are high for forward flex performance, and to provide broad pressure distribution to protect sensitive shins. The women's Veloce is produced on a woman specific last that accommodates not only a woman's foot, but is specifically designed to fit around a women's lower leg.
